Server Console Interface

The Server Console Interface provides a set of system administration tools that allow you to perform a number of actions including:

Server reboot or shutdown
Network setting configuration
Applying software updates
Access to the server command line
Gateway UI access control

You access the Server Console Interface from your server command line directly, or from an SSH connection (if SSH enabled). For network configuration, you must use the Server Console, which launches the Red Hat system-config-network utility. The Red Hat system-config-network utility is also known as the Network Administration Tool. See Red Hat Enterprise Linux's user documentation for more information about the system-config-network utility.

Access the Server Console Interface?

You can access the Server Console Interface from your server command line directly, or from an SSH connection. If you want to allow an SSH connection, you need to enable SSH access and add allowed IP addresses from the Gateway UI. See Configuring SSH Access.

Both direct and SSH access require that you use the server admin account credentials to access the Server Console Interface.
