Configuring Database Optimization

If your account has System Settings access control, you can set options to optimize the database containing the audit data.

To configure Database Optimization:

  1. From the System Center Home page, click System Settings, then from the System Settings page click Database Optimization.
  2. Move the mouse pointer over the Database Optimization area and click Click here to change these settings.
  3. To enable or disable Database Optimization, select or clear the check box.
  4. If Database Optimization is enabled, indicate whether to Shrink the Database by selecting or clearing the check box.
  5. If Database Optimization is enabled, indicate whether to Rebuild the database indexes by selecting or clearing the check box.
  6. Specify the Database Optimization schedule as follows:
  1. Click Save.

A Database Optimization is pending or Database Optimization in progress... message will be displayed during optimization.

The Database optimization will run in the background and may take some time to complete. Processing of the audit data will be suspended at times during this process and access to the Database may be restricted. Optimization will be suspended at regular intervals to allow other scheduled tasks to run.

If the Gateways are configured as a group, any group changes should be applied to each Gateway. If you change any configuration settings you must apply the new configuration for the new settings to take effect.
