Configuring Database Optimization
If your account has System Settings access control, you can set options to optimize the database containing the audit data.
To configure Database Optimization:
- From the System Center Home page, click System Settings, then from the System Settings page click Database Optimization.
- Move the mouse pointer over the Database Optimization area and click Click here to change these settings.
- To enable or disable Database Optimization, select or clear the check box.
- If Database Optimization is enabled, indicate whether to Shrink the Database by selecting or clearing the check box.
- If Database Optimization is enabled, indicate whether to Rebuild the database indexes by selecting or clearing the check box.
- Specify the Database Optimization schedule as follows:
- Specify how often you want Database Optimization to occur (Daily, Weekly or Monthly) using the drop-down list.
- If Daily, specify the Time of day, in 24 hour format, at which the Database Optimization is to occur.
- If Weekly, specify the Day of the week on which the Database Optimization is to occur using the drop-down list and the Time of day, in 24 hour format.
- If Monthly, specify whether Database Optimization should occur on the First, Second, Third, Fourth or Last Day of the week using the drop-down lists and the Time of day, in 24 hour format.
- Click Save.
A Database Optimization is pending or Database Optimization in progress... message will be displayed during optimization. The Database optimization will run in the background and may take some time to complete. Processing of the audit data will be suspended at times during this process and access to the Database may be restricted.
