Identifying a Policy Route

You can determine what policy route would be applied to a particular start and end email address to diagnose problems with your policy and verify that the policy works as expected.

To identify a mail policy route:

1. From the Policy Center Home page, click Mail Policy Routes. The page appears, listing the defined policy routes.
2. Click Identify.
3. Enter a From and To email address. This must be a valid Address in a Static Address List or LDAP Synchronized Address List. The email address must be in the format username@domainname. Use ""@"" or ndr in the From field to identify the route to be followed by a non-delivery report which has no sender. You may use wildcards in addresses according to the following rules: Show.

   Rules for use of wildcards in Static Address Lists

   You can use a * character to represent 0 or more wildcarded characters in an address, including "." but excluding the "@" character.  Each address must include a "@" character.

4. Click Identify.

   The matching policy route will be highlighted in blue and the number of the selected route will be displayed.

5. Apply the configuration.
