Report a false positive

Occasionally, a message can be quarantined incorrectly as a false positive. You can use the Gateway to report false positives to Clearswift. The message sent to Clearswift contains all the information required to determine the reason the Gateway intercepted and held the message.

If your Clearswift Gateway is using the multi-box message management license, you can manage messages held all Gateways across the peer group simultaneously.

To report a false positive:

  1. From the Message Center Home page, click the row in the Held Messages table for the area (or Peer Gateway )containing the messages you want to report as false positives. The Held Messages page is displayed, listing all the messages in that message area.

Use the Message Filter to search for individual messages or messages on Peer Gateways.
  2. Select the message and click Not Junk Email. The Report False-Positives dialog appears.
  3. To remove the original message from the message area when it has been reported, select Delete the messages after reporting.
  4. Click Yes to release the message.
