Working with Queued Messages

Queued messages can be viewed from the Message Center. There are various reasons why messages might be held in a queue and the Clearswift Gateway provides you with the option to search for queued messages individually.

The Gateway uses five message queues.

How do I...

• Search for queued messages?

  1. From the Home page, click Messages to display the Message Center Home page.
  2. Select a message queue in the Queued Messages area. The appropriate queue page appears.
  3. Click Click here to change these settings.

  4. Enter your Search Criteria.

     Search Criteria	Description
     Sender	The email address of the message sender.
     Recipients	The email address of the message recipient(s).
     Subject	The subject of the message.
     Sort Order	The order in which to display the search results. Select how you want to view the results using the drop-down menu options.
     Peers	The Peer Gateway(s) in your group. Select the peers you want to include in the search.

     You can search for a fragment, or part of a word, in any of the text fields. For example, searching for @company.org in the Sender field returns all held messages from senders using the company.org domain. Similarly, searching for conf in the Subject field returns message subject lines that include the words confidential, conference, and confirmation.

     Queue searching and filtering using the subject field may incur query timeouts. If this happens, you can still access the results that the query returned prior to timeout. By default, the query timeout is set at 30 seconds.

  5. Click Search. The messages currently held in the queue that match your search criteria are displayed.

• Process queued messages

  1. From the Home page, click Messages.
  2. Select a queue from the Queued Messages table. The appropriate queue is displayed.
  3. You can:

  • Click Click here to change these settings to perform a new search. Enter search criteria to filter the results and click Search.
  • Click Refresh list to refresh the queue.

  And, if you have selected the Dispatch Retry queue, you can also:

  • Click Delete all to remove all messages from the queue.
  • Click Retry all to re-attempt delivery of all messages in the queue.
  • Select messages in the queue using the checkboxes adjacent to the search results and either:
    • Click Delete (selected messages) to remove from the queue.
    • Click Retry (selected messages) to remove from the queue.
