Clearswift password policy for local accounts

A password policy is a set of rules that users must follow when setting passwords. By default, Clearswift enforces a password policy that is based on password complexity. For information on when Clearswift password policy is not enforced by default, see Password policy based on installation process. The reasons for using password complexity rather than password aging are discussed in Password aging vs. password complexity.

Clearswift's password policy applies to the following local accounts:

  • cs-admin: the administrator account that allows access to Clearswift Server Console and the command-line via SSH access or the physical console.
  • SCOM: account which allows machine-to-machine communication.
