Deleting a Disposal Action

References to Web policy content are only available when a Web Gateway is included in the peer group.

You can remove a disposal action from Clearswift Gateway if you no longer wish to use it in your policy.

You cannot delete Closedsystem disposal actions, or disposal actions currently referenced by content rules or policy routes.

System disposal actions are the standard disposal actions provided with Clearswift Gateway. They are indicated in the disposal action list by the text (system) adjacent to the name of the action.

To delete a disposal action:

  1. From the Policy Center Home page, click Disposal Actions. The Manage Disposal Actions page appears, listing the currently defined disposal actions in their current order of priority.
  2. Select the disposal action you wish to delete.
  3. Click the Delete button adjacent to the "n Items" heading. The Confirm Delete dialog appears.

NOTE: The Delete button is not available for system disposal actions, or for disposal actions that are used in your policy.

  1. Click Yes on the Confirm Delete dialog to confirm removal.

  • If you delete a message area disposal action, the action is no longer available when creating policy. However, Clearswift Gateway does not remove the associated message area until it is empty of messages.
  • When you have finished modifying your content security policy you must apply the configuration for any changes to take effect. If the Gateways are configured as a group, any group changes should be applied to each Gateway.
