Adding a Policy Bypass

You can create policy bypasses that enable the Clearswift Gateway policy engine to ignore specified sites on your policy routes.

To add a policy bypass:

  1. From the Policy Center Home page, click Web Policy Routes. The Manage Policy Routes page appears.
  2. Click the Policy Bypass tab. The Policy Bypass page displays a list of the policy bypasses you have already established.
  3. Click New. The Add HTTP Header Bypass dialog appears.
  4. In the Header field, type the HTTP header of the site you want to bypass. The Header field is not case-sensitive.
  5. In the Value field, type a matching header value. You can construct matching header values using a Closedwildcard character. For example, to bypass ExampleHeader as the User-Agent header, the string could be 'Example*'. The Value field is not case-sensitive.

    Wildcard characters

Use * to represent 0 or more characters.

  6. Select the Direction in which the communication must be traveling to be bypassed:
  1. Click Add to save changes.
  2. Apply the configuration.

References to Web policy content will only be available when a Clearswift Web Gateway is added to the peer group.
