About system backup & restore

System Backup & Restore enables you to archive your system, including:

System configuration
Held messages
PMM user information
Reporting and message tracking database
System log files

You can select the areas you want to include in your backup, configure an FTP server to host the files, and schedule an automated backup at regular intervals.

In the event of a system failure, the backup can be restored with minimal data loss.

System Backup & Restore is only to be used as a means of disaster recovery.

Do not attempt to restore a system to a configured Gateway.

Do not use System Backup & Restore for any other purpose, for example, as a method of cloning Gateways when creating a peer group. Use Configuration Backup & Restore as a means of archiving configurations for purposes other than disaster recovery.
