Tag The Message Subject action
The Tag the Message Subject action appends a text fragment to the start or end of a subject. You can enter the text (up to 78 characters) and whether you want it to be tagged to the start or end of the subject header.
This action can be added to all content rules except:
- Encryption or decryption fails
- Message modification fails
- Message processing fails
- Missing Manager
Apply the action to a content rule
- Inside the What To Do? area of the content rule, click New next to the What Else to Do? action.
The Add a What to Do Action dialog appears. - Select the action from the list.
The action is automatically added to the What Else To Do? area. - Close the Add a What to Do Action dialog.
Configure the action
- Beside the Tag The Message Subject action in the What Else To Do? area, click Click here to change these settings.

Tag the subject line of the message with text entered in the Using this text field.
What tokens can I use here?Token Description %ADMIN% The administrator account email address used by the Policy Engine.
%DATE% The date the original message was sent.
%POLICY% A list of the content rules invoked on the message.
%REMOVEDNAMES% A list of the names of any removed attachments.
%SENDER% The email address of the sender of the original message.
%SERVER% The Clearswift Gatewayserver email address.
%SUBJECT% The subject of the original message.
%UNIQUEID% The Mail ID: the unique ID Clearswift Gateway assigns to a message.
- Choose Where the message subject tag is entered: At the Start of the subject line or At the End of the subject line.
- Click Save.

Remove the action from a content rule
Inside the What To Do? area, click next to the What Else to Do? action you want to remove and confirm the deletion.
