Confirmed Junk Email

You can use the Confirmed Junk Email services to check for spam messages.

Confirmed Junk Email checks messages for patterns unique to junk email messages.

For each message, signature information is extracted and sent to a centralized service. Therefore, you must run the Connectivity Test to check that the Gateway can contact the centralized service.

If there is a problem contacting the centralized service, the other spam detection methods are still used but detection rates and performance could be affected.

You will need a feature license to use Confirmed Junk Email. Check the Supplementary license features on the View License page. See Viewing or Updating your Clearswift Gateway License Details for more information.

For more information, see Configure Confirmed Junk Email settings.

Usage Recommendation

Junk Email is spam email where the sender or the message stream can be reliably confirmed to come from a known spam source.

The recommendation for usage would be to Quarantine these emails enabling users to release any false positives using their PMM systems. The remaining emails can then be moved to Reject when you are confident of the minimal false positive rate.
