Specifying Thresholds

You can specify when an alarm will be raised by adjusting the Raise Threshold, Percentage Limits or Message Limits for specific alarms indicated by :

Specifying the Raise Threshold:

  1. Display the System Center Home page.
  2. Click Logs & Alarms, and on the Logs & Alarms page, click the System Alarms tab. Raised alarms are displayed at the top of the list.
  3. The threshold can only be configured for specific alarms indicated by .
  4. Select the alarm for which the threshold is to be specified.
  5. Click Edit. The Configure Thresholds for Alarm dialog appears.
  6. Edit the Raise Threshold entry in the Configure Thresholds for Alarm dialog as required.
  7. Click Defaults to return the Raise Threshold entry to the default value.
  8. Click Update to update the threshold.
  9. Click Close to exit without making changes.

Specifying the Raise Threshold and Cancel Threshold as a percentage:

  1. Display the System Center Home page.
  2. Click Logs & Alarms, and on the Logs & Alarms page, click the System Alarms tab. Raised alarms are displayed at the top of the list.
  3. The threshold can only be configured for specific alarms indicated by .
  4. Select the alarm for which the threshold is to be specified.
  5. Click Edit. The Configure Thresholds for Alarm dialog appears.
  6. Edit the Raise Threshold entry in the Configure Thresholds for Alarm dialog as required. The entry must be a percentage value between 1 and 100 inclusive.
  7. Edit the Cancel Threshold entry in the Configure Thresholds for Alarm dialog as required. The entry must be a percentage value between 1 and 100 inclusive.
  8. Click Defaults to return the Raise Threshold entry to the default value.
  9. Click Update to update the threshold.
  10. Click Close to exit without making changes.
 

If you change any configuration settings you must apply the new configuration for the new settings to take effect.
