Updating the URL Database

You can update or rollback the URL Database to a previous version at any time. Details (version number and date of installation) of the current installed version of the URL Database are shown on the Managed Updates tab.

To update the URL Database:

  1. From the System Center Home page, select Installed Version & Upgrades. The Installed Version & Upgrades page appears.
  2. Select the Managed Updates tab. This tab lists the databases currently installed, with their current version details.
  3. To update the URL Database, click Update URL Database in the task panel. A dialog will be displayed indicating whether the request was successful, failed, or if an update is already in progress.
  4. If the update is successful, the Update in Progress dialog displays. Click Close to continue. The operation is run in the background and may take some time. Click your web browser's refresh button after a couple of minutes to see if an updated URL Database is displayed on the Managed Updates tab.

To rollback the URL Database:

  1. From the System Center Home page, select Installed Version & Upgrades. The Installed Version & Upgrades page appears.
  2. Select the Managed Updates tab. This tab lists the databases currently installed, with their current version details.
  3. To rollback the URL Database, click Rollback URL Database in the task panel.
  4. On the Confirm Rollback URL Database dialog, click Yes to continue. The operation is run in the background and may take some time. Click your web browser's refresh button after a couple of minutes to see if an updated URL Database is displayed on the Managed Updates tab.
  You can also update and rollback the URL Database by navigating to the System > Proxy Settings > URL Database page. The Update URL Database and Rollback URL Database options are in the task panel on this page and work in the same way as on the Installed Version & Upgrades page.
