You can specify whether the Clearswift Gateway tries to match a host name (for example, in a Machine List) to its IP address by enabling or
disabling the Reverse DNS Lookup setting.
To specify the Reverse DNS Lookup setting
From
the Policy Center Home page, click
Global Web Policy. The Global Web
Policy page appears.
Move the mouse pointer
over the Reverse DNS Lookup section and click Click here to change these settings.
Select or clear Enable Reverse DNS Lookup.
If you select this
option, the Gateway tries to match host names to their IP addresses.
If you clear this
option, the Gateway does not try to match host names to their IP addresses.
Click Save.
Apply the configuration.
Enabling reverse DNS lookup may degrade performance. Modifying this setting requires a proxy restart, which disconnects users from their current web sessions.
