Copying Content Rules from a Policy Route
When you create or edit policy routes,
you can save time by copying the content rules from similar routes. To
do this, follow the normal procedure for creating
or editing a policy route. That is, on
the Modify Policy Route page, provide a name for the route (optional),
specify the endpoints for the route, and define the default action for
the route. However, when you provide the content rules for the route,
rather than adding them individually, you copy them from another existing
policy route.
You can choose to either:
- Add the content rules
from the source route to the destination route, leaving any content rules
that you have already defined in place.
- Overwrite the content
rules in the destination route with the rules from the source route, removing
any rules already present in the destination route and replacing them
with the rules from the source route.
To copy content rules from an existing
policy route
- Follow the procedure for
creating or editing
a policy route to the point where you define your content rules.
- In the task panel, click
Copy rules from route. The Copy Rules From Another Route dialog appears.
- From the Select
source route drop-down list, select the policy route from which
to copy the content rules.
- Specify whether to overwrite
the content rules in the destination route:
- To completely replace
all of the content rules in the destination route, select Overwrite
destination route.
- To add the content
rules from the source route to those already in the destination route,
leaving the existing rules in place, clear Overwrite
destination route.
- Click Copy
Rules. The copied content rules appear in the Content Rule Order
list.
- If required, change the
order of the content rules. The order determines which primary action
is performed if a message triggers more than one content rule. To change
the priority of a content rule:
- Select the content
rule in the Content Rule Order list.
- In the task panel
click either
or
, as required.
- If necessary,
change the priority of the new policy
route on the Manage Policy Routes page.
- Apply the configuration.
