Specifying
the Time Policy Schedule
You can configure the Time Policy schedule
to define the browsing time that is allowed during each hour of the day
in each week.
To configure the Time Policy Schedule:
- Move the mouse pointer
over the Using This Schedule area
and click .
The schedule chart defines the times
when the Clearswift Gateway allows web browsing for each day of the
week. By default, the display is shown in 30 minute intervals but this
can be changed by selecting the drop-down intervals of 1 hour or 5 minutes.
The icons indicate the type of browsing
allowed:
Block:
Browsing not allowed in the selected
time period.
Allow:
Browsing allowed in the selected time
period.
Allow
for up to a
minutes per day:
Browsing allowed in the selected time
period (s) for up to a minutes in each
day.
Allow
for up to b
minutes per day:
Browsing allowed in the selected time
period (s) for up to b minutes in each
day.
Allow
for up to c
minutes per day:
Browsing allowed in the selected time
period (s) for up to c minutes in each
day.
Allow
for up to d
minutes per day:
Browsing allowed in the selected time
period (s) for up to d minutes in each
day.

Note
that the allowance is cumulative across all of the selected time periods
in a particular day. |
- For each of the allowances,
the time period can be amended and, optionally, a description added. To
change an allowance, click the color square associated with the allowance
to be changed and click a period on the schedule chart. The Time field
and optional description field will be displayed:
- By default, the
Time field has a value of 30 minutes. You can enter a new value between
5 and 1440 minutes. If you enter a lower or higher value, the Save icon becomes disabled.
- An optional description
can be added.
- To schedule browsing for
a particular time period, click that period on the chart.
- It is possible to set or
clear multiple boxes quickly by dragging the mouse. For example, to set
multiple browsing periods, left click and hold on a box that is already
set and, keeping the mouse button down, drag the mouse. The boxes will
be set as the mouse pointer passes over them. To clear boxes, click and
hold on a box that is already clear and follow the same procedure.
- When you have finished
defining your schedule, click Save.
- Apply the configuration.
