How do I...

• Create and Modify a Static List?

  1. Click Policy > Email Addresses (on an Email Gateway) or Policy > User Names (on a Web Gateway).

  2. To create a new list, click New. A dialog box enables you to choose the list type you want to add.

  3. Select Static Address List (email) or Static User Name List (web) and click Create.

     To edit an existing Static list, select a list from the available entries and click Edit.

  4. Edit the Overview section to provide the list with a Name or any relevant Notes. Click Save.
  5. In the Addresses or User Names section, click New to add an entry. Wildcards are permitted in addresses. Show me

     You can use a * character to represent 0 or more wildcarded characters in an address, including "." but excluding the "@" character.For example, the table below displays wildcarded addresses and example matches:

  6. Enter an email address in the format: username@domainname or a user name (on a Web Gateway).
  7. Click Add.
  8. When your list is complete, apply the configuration.
• Remove a Static List?

  You cannot delete an Address List or User Name List that is currently referenced in a policy route.

  1. Click Policy > Email Addresses (on an Email Gateway) or Policy > User Names (on a Web Gateway).
  2. Select a list from the available entries. Click Delete
  3. Click the Delete button to confirm the deletion.
  4. Apply configuration.
• Import Email Addresses

  You can import data from a text file (.txt) of up to 2MB.

  1. Click Policy > Email Addresses.
  2. Select a Static Address List from the available entries. Click Edit.
  3. Click Import address listin the Task Panel. The Import dialog is displayed.

  4. Click Browse and locate the .txt file containing your data.

     Do not select the Delete and replace... check box if you want to keep the entries already contained in the list.

  5. Click Import.
  6. Apply configuration.
• Import User Names?

  You can import data from a text file (.txt) of up to 2MB.

  1. Click Policy > User Names.
  2. Select a Static User Name List from the available entries. Click Edit.
  3. Click Import user namesin the Task Panel. The Import dialog is displayed.

  4. Click Browse and locate the .txt file containing your data.

     Do not select the Delete and replace... check box if you want to keep the entries already contained in the list.

  5. Click Import.
  6. Apply configuration.
