Pinging a Host

The Ping a Host option enables you to test a connection to a specified networked host machine.

To test a network connection

On the System Center Home page, select Ping a host from the task panel. The Ping Host dialog appears.
Complete the dialog fields:

Host: The IP address or host name of the host to which you wish to connect.
Timeout: A maximum duration for the connection attempt. The value must be between 10 and 120 seconds.
