When calculating browsing time, any client applications that make URL requests on behalf of the user, such as a task bar plug-in to check for new web mail, will use up the browse time quota for that user. If there are particular web requests that should be excluded from the browse time calculations which can be identified by HTTP header or URL then these can be excluded from the calculations by creating quota bypasses.
In the Value field, type a matching header value.
The HTTP Header Bypass will be triggered if the Header field contains the substring that you specify in the Value field. Wildcard characters are not supported in the Value field. Both the Header and Value fields are not case-sensitive. |
In the
URL field, type the URL of the site
you want to bypass. You can use wildcard
characters
in the substring of the URL to indicate a range of pages or sub-domains. URL value is not case-sensitive.
RSS feeds will be included in the Browsing Time Quota which can result in the quota being used without browsing because the RSS reader checks the subscribed feeds regularly for new material. To exclude RSS feeds, you will need to add the URL of each RSS server to the URL Bypass list. When you have finished modifying your content security policy you must apply the configuration for any changes to take effect. |
