The Message Center enables you to view and manage messages that have been held or queued by the

The lower section displays the Held Messages table and the Queued Messages table. Both tables display summary information about the number (Count) and the combined Size of messages contained in each area or queue.

Held Messages
Held messages are emails that have been intercepted by the

button to select.Using the Message Center you can:
- Find a message that has been held in a message area.
- Analyze the content of a held message. For example, you might want to determine whether or why a message poses a threat. You can also view a summary analysis of the message, view the body content and raw message data, and inspect the attachments.
- Handle held messages as required. You can delete or release a message, forward it, non-deliver it, reprocess it through the content security policy, set the expiry time, or export it to disk for further investigation. You can create batch operations to handle multiple messages.

Queued Messages
Queued messages are messages that are currently being held in a queue. The Queued Messages table on the Message Center Home page displays a summary of messages in the following queues:

| SMTP Inbound | Messages that have been received. |
| Waiting for Analysis | Messages that are currently awaiting content analysis. |
| Ready for Dispatch | Messages that have been analyzed and are ready to be delivered. |
| SMTP Outbound | Messages that are currently in the outbound delivery queue. |
| Dispatch Retry | Messages that could not initially be delivered and are currently awaiting a further attempt. |

Batch operations
Batch operations handle multiple messages on your local
You can apply any of the following batch operations to messages retained in a held message area:
| Batch Operation | Description |
|---|---|
| Delete | Permanently removes messages from the message area. |
| Release | Releases messages to their intended recipients. |
| Forward | Forwards messages to a specified email address. |
| Non-Deliver | Replies to message senders with a non-delivery message. |
| Reprocess | Attempts to reprocess messages using the current policy. |
| Set expiry | Applies a specified expiry time to messages. When this time elapses, these messages will be deleted from the message area. |
| View batch operations in progress by clicking Batch Operations from the Message Center Home page, or by clicking Messages > Batch Operations from the toolbar. The Current batch operations page is displayed. You can monitor, pause, or cancel batch operations using this option. |

Tracking the history of a message
You can use the Track Message feature to examine the history of an individual message. This enables you to view the details of each processing event performed on the message, including delivery, rejections, encryption splits, and re-directions.
