Running Connectivity Tests

The Connectivity Test option enables you to test a policy's settings for connectivity to system components. The Connectivity Test option performs the following tests:

  The connectivity tests are performed on the policy that is open in the policy editor. This is not necessarily the active policy if changes have been made since the policy was last applied. The In-use test result shows whether or not the setting is part of the active policy.

To run connectivity tests

  1. On the System Center Home page, click Connectivity Test in the task panel. The Connectivity Test dialog appears, displaying the results of the test when it was last run.
  2. Click Run Tests. The dialog displays an In Progress message while it runs the test, and then displays the results.
  3. Click either:
  1. To repeat the test, repeat from step 2, otherwise click Close to close the Connectivity Test dialog box.

Viewing test results

The Test Results page displays the results for each of the tests that is performed. The results that are displayed are as follows:
