What To Do? actions

What To Do? actions determine the outcome of content rules. They specify how the Gateway should handle content that has been detected.

Each content rule operates with a principal What To Do? action called a Disposal Action. For example, in a Detect Virus content rule on a Gateway, the Disposal Action might be Hold in Virus Area.

Each mail policy route also has a terminal default action, which applies if none of the attached content rules are detected and acted on. For more about managing policy routes, refer to Policy Routes.

To find out more about configuring disposal actions, see Disposal Actions.

You can add additional What Else To Do? actions to a content rule. For example, when holding a message in a Message Area, you might want to Generate an Inform to notify an administrator.
