End User & Block Pages

End User and Block Pages are displayed either when the Gateway blocks a connection or the allocated browsing time quota is about to expire.

• Block Pages

  Block Pages warn the end user that they have attempted to access a site that is prohibited by your security policy. You can customize a Block Page to provide users with a reason for the block, and any further relevant information. You can edit:

  • Block Page Title
  • Page text

  • An image to display on the block page (up to 1MB).

  Create multiple block pages and customize each one for a specific policy route.

• Block Page Override Pages

  You can allow end users to override a block page by clicking a button on a Block Page Override Page. You can edit:

  • Page text
  • Button name
• Quota Warning Pages

  Quota Warning Pages warn the end user that their allocated time for browsing is about to expire. Users acknowledge the page and continue by clicking a button. You can edit:

  • Page Title
  • Page text
  • Button name
• The Manage End User & Block Pages page

  You can manage multiple block pages and end user pages using the Manage End User & Block Pages page. Click Policy > Policy References > End User & Block Pages.

  The page displays lists of all available Block Pages, Block Page Override Pages and Quota Warning Pages.

  indicates that the page is applied to at least one policy route.

  indicates that the page is not applied to a policy route.

• Using tokens with Block Pages

  You can use tokens when configuring the text that is displayed by your block pages. For example, you might want to include the URL of the page that has been requested. In this instance a token returns the appropriate value:

  Access to the following page: %URL% is prohibited.

  There are several tokens which might be useful. See Using Tokens for more information.

How do I...

• Create or Edit a Block Page?

  1. Click Policy > Policy References > End User & Block Pages
  2. Select the Block Pages tab.

  3. Click New to create a new Block Page or select an existing page from the list and click Edit.

  4. Edit the Overview section, including the Name of the Block Page and any relevant Notes. Click Save to complete the changes.

  5. Select the Titles & Content tab to add the Title, Sub Title and any HTML to be Inserted into Block Page. Click Save to complete the changes.

  6. Select the Image tab and us the Browse button to locate an image. Click Save to complete the changes. The image is previewed on the Image tab.
  7. Apply the configuration.

  Click Preview the Block page in the Task Panel to view the page in a separate tab.

• Delete a Block Page?

  1. Click Policy > Policy References > End User & Block Pages.
  2. Select the Block Pages tab.

  3. Select a page from the list.

  4. Click Delete. A dialog is displayed.

     You can only delete a block page that is not currently applied to a policy route

  5. Confirm by clicking Delete.

• Configure a Block Page Override Page?

  1. Click Policy > Policy References > End User & Block Pages.
  2. Select the Block Page Override tab.
  3. Click Click here to change these settings.
  4. Enter text for the Button. For example, Continue or Continue Browsing.
  5. Enter any additional text you want to be displayed.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Apply the configuration.
• Configure a Quota Warning Page?

  1. Click Policy > Policy References > End User & Block Pages.
  2. Select the Quota Warning tab.
  3. Click Click here to change these settings.
  4. Enter the Title and Sub Title of the warning page. For example, Approaching End of Time Quota.
  5. Enter text for the Button. For example, Continue or Continue Browsing.
  6. Enter any additional text you want to be displayed.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Apply the configuration.

  Click Preview the Warning Page in the Task Panel to view the page in a separate tab.
