Using an Upstream Proxy

You can configure the Clearswift Gateway to use an upstream proxy to connect to the Internet. In addition to enabling the upstream proxy, you can configure:

• The address of the upstream proxy to use. The Clearswift Gateway uses this proxy to connect to the internet.
• URLs or URL masks that specify addresses to bypass. Clearswift Gateway does not use the upstream proxy server to retrieve these URLs.
• The method of authentication, including the user name and password that the Clearswift Gateway uses to authenticate access when connecting to the upstream proxy server.
