• Lexical Expression Lists

  Collections of words or phrases (lexical expressions) with associated weightings. See About Lexical Expressions for more information.

• Informs

  Email messages that can be sent as a notification, for example to the original message sender or the system administrator. See About Informs for more information.

• Filename Lists

  Lists of one or more file identification masks for identifying the presence of particular files or file types in a communication. See About Filename Lists for more information.

• Custom Media Types

  Lists of one or more hexadecimal signatures that can be identified at the start or end of a media type file. The Gateway provides a number of custom media types and you can also create your own. See About Custom Media Types for more information.

Email Gateway Policy References

• Address Lists

  Lists of email addresses such as a departmental team within your organization or a regional office. See About Address Lists for more information.

• Disposal Actions

  The principal action which the Gateway performs on an email message. It determines whether the message is delivered, held, dropped (deleted), non-delivered, or relayed to a server. See About Disposal Actions for more information.

• ImageLogic

  The ImageLogic feature enables you to control the circulation of images via email. ImageLogic processes images contained in messages and will check to see if there is a matching image that has been stored in the image database before analyzing the image for unacceptable features if no matching image has been found. An image will be classified as acceptable or unacceptable depending on this analysis.

• Message Annotations

  Text items (in both plain text and HTML format) that can be added to an email message. Typically you might create an annotation for use as a commercial disclaimer or to notify a recipient that the Gateway has stripped malicious content from the message. • User Name Lists

  Groupings of one or more users to whom you want to apply a common policy. See About User Name Lists for more information.

• Machine Lists

  Groupings of individual user machines. Machine lists can be used to define one 'endpoint' of a policy route. See About Machine Lists for more information.

• Internet Zones

  Groupings of web pages to which policies can apply. You can use Internet Zones as part of route definitions. Internet Zones define the World Wide Web endpoint of a route. See About Internet Zones for more information.

• Intranet Sites

  Groupings of URLs that define the internal web sites of your company. See About Intranet Sites for more information.

• End User & Block Pages

  Configurable pages which are displayed when a prohibited web page is accessed or the user is approaching the end of their browsing time quota. See About End User & Block Pages for more information.
